Blizzard teams up with Mila Kunis to support BlueCheck Ukraine with the new World of Warcraft Charity Pet Pack
Blizzard Entertainment teams up with Ukrainian-born actress and producer Mila Kunis to raise awareness and donations for BlueCheck Ukraine
Available now until August 29, World of Warcraft players can directly support life-saving humanitarian efforts in Ukraine by purchasing the exclusive “Pet Pack for Ukraine” in-game or directly from Blizzard’s Battle.net shop. The $20 purchase will include two pets matching the Ukrainian flag colors –including Sunny (a golden retriever) and Flurky (a murloc holding a sunflower, which is the national flower of Ukraine) - for their Wrath of the Lich King Classic characters.
Sales will directly support BlueCheck Ukraine with all proceeds* going toward the non-profit’s work in supporting victims of war. Mila shared: “The World of Warcraft community is the first gaming community I was ever a part of, with strangers who didn’t care who or what I was–I know how giving they can be, and what they can achieve when we work together. I’m proud to be making a difference to countless lives in Ukraine alongside them.”
Co-founded in 2022 by actor and activist Liev Schreiber, BlueCheck Ukraine provides aid and critical support to humanitarian work on the front lines of Russia’s war on Ukraine. WoW players who purchase these limited-time charity pets will make an immediate impact and know their donations are going to a good cause.
The WoW charity pet program has raised more than USD $18 million in previous years, including partnering with Code.org in 2018 and also raising more than USD $1M for Doctors without Borders in 2021. Note: *From July 25 to August 29, 2023 Blizzard Entertainment will donate 100% of the purchase price of each “Pet Pack for Ukraine,” to BlueCheck, less any chargebacks, refunds, and Value Added Taxes (VAT), or other similar taxes paid.
