Mornin’. Any big plans this weekend? Sunbathing, swimming, road trip to the beach — or like me, sweating?
As the heat index continues to climb, whether I’m at the gym or just walking into work from the parking lot, my body temperature feels like a turkey on Thanksgiving.
For those of you in a similar situation, check out this article in The New York Times that provides treatments for overactive sweat glands.
What you won't find is one of my all-time favorites, the bucket of ice in front of the motorized fan.
Stay icy my friends.

Buffed/Nerfed
What’s up and down in the world rn.
Buffed: Christmas Rock. Amazon is reportedly paying Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson a record breaking $50 million for the upcoming holiday movie Red One. Jingle all the way…to the bank!
Nerfed: The fish are biting. An 11-year-old Oklahoma boy reeled in a piranha-like fish from a local pond. Called a pacu, it’s a close relative to the razor-toothed carnivore, but unlike its distant cousin, it follows a plant-based diet.
Buffed: From Death Star to Death Valley. Jon Rice, 52, ran a mile in 128-degree weather dressed as Darth Vader. In allegedly the hottest place on Earth, the Force was strong as he fared much better than his supervillain inspiration.
Nerfed: First-gen iPhone. A 2007 iPhone sold for $190,372 at an auction. The record amount for the unopened 4GB phone was more than 300 times its original retail price. Had to be the Apple of someone’s eye.
Buffed: “Taco Tuesday” free for all. Taco John abandoned its dispute with Taco Bell over the use of the term. Trademarked for more than 40 years by the fast-food chain, it is now free to use by anyone. New slogan: “Liberty and tacos for all.” —ME

Fun Fact Friday
Comic-Con 2023 is in full swing, although it may lack a bit of star power this year due to Hollywood actors and writers strikes.
The four-day summer spectacle in San Diego not only celebrates comic books, but all things related to pop culture — gaming, animation, fantasy, horror, movies and more.
Did you know the first convention started in San Diego in 1970 under the name Golden State Comic Book Convention, officially becoming the San Diego Comic-Con in 1973? Led by Shel Dorf, the group of enthusiasts, sought out other like-minded people to socialize and share their love of comic books.
The original convention had approximately 300 people, who gathered in the basement of San Diego’s US Grant Hotel. Meniscal numbers compared to the more than 130,000 expected to be roaming the exhibition halls at the San Diego Convention Center this year.
