Dude, I love this for you. Imagine never taking the opportunity to speak to someone who could do something about your grievances in a video game and then bringing his disabled wife into the conversation as if it has anything to do with why you disliked a patch. Yikes. I barely remember you. I had to ask who you were. Gonna start off with…
Dude, I love this for you. Imagine never taking the opportunity to speak to someone who could do something about your grievances in a video game and then bringing his disabled wife into the conversation as if it has anything to do with why you disliked a patch. Yikes. I barely remember you. I had to ask who you were. Gonna start off with the "my opinions are my own speech. This convo represents me only and not ABK".... You seem to have a memory problem. I really debated on how to respond to this because I respect everyone's right to an opinion, even if said opinion is that they don't care for me. I'm not everyone's cup of tea, that's fine. Let's just go with the facts, eh?
1. Sean didn't raid with us, so straight out of the gate you're already making up your own timeline. Was that an intentional ironic drag on Blizzard main storyline deviation or are you really that caught up in your head canon? Sean hasn't raided in a push guild since our days in an employee friends and family guild back in Legion. He prefers casual play because he spreads himself across the whole ABK lineup, not to mention all the other games he plays for fun. You have to get your basic starter facts right or it doesn't give the rest of your comments much weight.
2. Yes, Sean hyped up Korthia. He also hyped up every patch, expansion, and other IP he's worked on in the last 17 years because he loves his job. He's like a kid in a candy store any time someone is interested in the Lore of any of Blizzard's games. That's why he was happy to have Lore chats with the guild. You had unprecedented access to a Loremaster and despite being encouraged to, you never sent him a single message in game or on discord. "Went missing" is hilarious. Sarcasm inc: Yes, he was totally nowhere to be found while actively working on the multiple games Diablo was putting out at the time. It's called "responsibility". He'd have been glad to explain it to you (since you seem to have missed the multiple conversations we had about it in guild and on discord) except, again, you never bothered to reach out. He was also online doing his dailies nearly every day. At this point you'd have turned avoiding him into an Olympic sport.
3. You seem to not have a working idea on how his job works. Something I definitely corrected a thousand times. I'll dumb it down for you, again, even though I risk trying to sound cool. The dev teams create the story. They have writers who write the in game stuff. Lore is part of a different team called Story and Franchise development. It houses authors, editors etc etc. The Lore team is a consultant role. The dev teams, artists, authors etc consult the Lore team for two purposes. One is "did I get this right? Am I breaking any Lore ruling or did I put the wrong amount of fingers, eye color, weapon, age, ear position" and so forth. The second is "This is our direction for this next creation, I need suggestions on how to get from there to here", or, :I need a super cool weapon but one that hasn't been used" or "We're going to break this previous Lore ruling to write the next expansion, we're gonna die on this hill". His job is to then say "ok here's 5 ways you could feasibly justify it let me know what you choose to move forward with". The Lore team doesn't create or they'd be on a dev team. You can look up any of his interviews on the subject if you're really interested but it sounds more like you just want to complain. As I recall, you were a minor, so I understand that whining comes naturally to you, but it's not a good look once you reach adulthood and I think you must be 18 by now so I hope you're able to course correct.
4. This last one is personal. I don't give a rat's ass if you like me or not. I do however, prefer that you dislike me factually. The riding his coattails to look cool comment legit made me giggle. No one who had ever interacted with me would ever say I looked cool or tried to because I'm an extremely silly, ridiculous person who is devoted to doing just about anything for a laugh unless you mess with me or someone I love. I'm not worried about looking cool then either though. The guild was full of highly sarcastic personalities with an unparalleled dedication to roasting one another. You didn't vibe with it and left.
I didn't look cool to anyone in the guild. They were my last attempt to trying to get CE again and M+s that were 20+ before my hands stopped working. I'm disabled, I have 70%+ permanent damage in every joint in my body. My hands were the worst. Helping me play to the best of my ability and problem solving how to work around my damage was at times slow and frustrating. It was also stressful, especially on prog nights. Aside from myself, no one was more frustrated than Ophy. He didn't care for me in general, either, and the fact that he's the one in here defending my husband and I speaks VOLUMES to the overall childish and petty way you've gone about expressing your distaste for the expansion. The funny thing is, I was a healer and you were dps and healing wasn't the reason we didn't complete mythic, dps was. Despite my many challenges, I wasn't the issue.
Coattails, lol. Sean will be the first one to tell you our origin story involves him being a lowly level 14 paladin while I had 2 max level characters and was working on my 3rd in vanilla. Our first day as an official couple was his first day at work. He's happy to tell anyone I've carried him like a backpack through every expansion. I'd also only ever been interested in heroic level and having fun. In BFA, I was diagnosed and told I had maybe a decade until I was wheelchair bound. A good set of friends inspired me to see just how far I could go so I wouldn't have any regrets once my hands were too stiff and locked to even move the mouse. I made CE raider, my highest was a 24 M+ dungeon and I made top 1% of healing priests worldwide when holy was one of the worst M+ specs. I don't need to be cool. I don't need to be elite either. What I needed was peace of mind and a sense of accomplishment. WL tried really hard to give that to me. I'd appreciate if you didn't involve that experience in your overdue vindictive, personal attack over an expansion you didn't care for. K? Thx.
